Which used car should I buy from the ones in the description?
I have $4000 to spend in vehicle expenses
-A 2003 Hyundai Tiburon GT priced at exactly $3000 good condition and no water damage, no rust, no visible dents, no totaled history, etc. (manual)
-A 1991 Toyota Supra Targa Turbo MK3 Priced at $2900 with a good body, and decent interior for its age.(automatic)
-A 1991 Honda CRX priced at $2300, another good body, but interior is a bit worn, however I've heard a lot of good things about this car.(manual)
-A 1997 mazda miata priced at $3500, soft top, very good body condition, no mechanical damage either, but a bit close to my limit(manual)
What I want in a car is to be dependable and drive good. I want to get into track racing when I have a bit more free time and money. If someone that knows about cars could recommend me a similar vehicle, I would appreciate it. Again my budget is $4000 and I rather not spend money rebuilding an engine or an engine unless it's really worth it. I live in Austin, TX so if anyone can find some good vehicles at that price for me I would greatly appreciate it.
Added (1). I have other money specifically for the insurance, registration, etc. I will add it to the description so I can get an actual answer.
First of all, any vehicle you are considering buying needs to have a complete maintenance history in writing before even being thought of; second - you need to think of All expenses when buying a vehicle like: insurance, initial price, scheduled maintenance, fuel, etc, etc… That $ 4000 may not cover all that you need to buy a vehicle… Third - you need to have a mechanic do complete inspection of all systems before buying… Not following the steps here will result in headaches + $$$
It would depend on which one is in the best condition, as determined by a professional mechanic, not by a seller's description. Of course, you would go see the car, inspect it, give it a good long test drive, get a Carfax report on it, and have a mechanic look it over. You would also take a look at the owner's title to make sure it's his name on it and that it is not a salvage or rebuilt title. Then you would check kbb.com and nadaguides.com to find out if the price is fair.
