Why does my quad make a grinding noise?

Just recently i noticed that my 1990 honda fourtrax 200 rwd was making a grinding noise in the rear. The grinding noise only happens when i turn right. I think it might be the differential but i just wanted some advice on what it might be or what i should do.

Some cars have stabilizer bars at the rear, you should check that also. It could just be the suspension, or wheel bearing.

Check the left hand wheel bearings first. Jack up and rock them to see if there's excessive play and spin to listen for roughness.

  • Why do older cars make that wind up noise when reversing? I have always wondered… It was real prevalent on saturns and hondas. They make like a high pitch winding noise and I just wondered why.
  • What makes the Honda 3 wheeler more dangerous than a quad bike? So I was talking to a guy about motorbikes, 3 wheelers and quads yesterday. He said that the 3 wheeler didn't have something and that made it dangerous and was the reason quads are more successful. I know they have no suspension etc and obviously have one less wheel but what else is there? Something about the actual engineering of the vehicle? I'm not talking about inexperienced riders. Anyone help?
  • Honda Rebel makes clicking/grinding noise when shifted into gear I was driving it just fine until my rpms went high and it rolled to a stop. Could not get it to move. When I shift into first it makes a grinding noise and it won't even stall if I use the clutch incorrectly. Anyone know what it is?
  • Honda 300ex quad electric start problems? It's a honda 300ex in the 1990s and it's electric start. The neutral light won't light up, and it won't turn on. It's in neutral and the battery's fine. The headlights work, it's been doing this on and off for a week but now it just stays like this permanently. I need help, I don't know what it is. Someone please help!
