Lack of reliability can result from any number of factors, such as poor employee work ethics, poor quality parts and suppliers, poor manufacturing procedures, poor quality control and inspection, and poor management.
I find Hondas unreliable. They had bad transmissions, early ones ate valves. Toyotas, stuck throttles. Over complicated electrics. You hear nothing about Mits or Isuzu.
Corporate culture. For instance, Chrysler has a great design team and makes very good looking cars, but the Chrysler and Jeep products have a poor production team.
Inferior engineering, design, and quality control. It's that simple.
And in the case of Mitsu, which in its glory days would sell to anyone with a pulse, the buyers had no clue how to take care of the cars.
Because they build them for more performance than reliability.
- Nissan vs Hyundai vs Toyota vs Honda vs Scion. Which one is more reliable and a better purchase? Nissan vs. Hyundai vs. Toyota vs. Honda vs. Scion… Which one is more reliable and a better purchase?
- If one or two ISP's ban a site and raise prices, can a new one rise up and compete? Why? Why not? What about Honda/Toyota? Or ' MCI & Sprint muscling AT&T aside? Anyone remember Nucor Steel? Each of those took advantage of very different situations, each with seemingly impossible odds. Thing is, they were all LEGALLY allowed to compete. How about here?
- How did Mitsubishi compare to Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Subaru, and Mazda in the 80's, 90's, and early 2000's? I remember back in the early 2000's, I used to see many Mitsubishi's being driven. Now, I hardly see them around. Was Mitsubishi, generally, as good as the other car-makes mentioned above, in terms of general customer-satisfaction (fuel-efficiency, reliability, etc.)? In the US
