Why is product placement rare in Canadian shows?

I watch a lot of shows from Canada, but not much product placement is shown compared to the United States, United Kingdom and Australia. This excludes reality shows, documentaries and shows co-produced in another country or filmed in Canada but produced in somewhere else like America. Shows where I have seen some product placement include Naturally Sadie (Scrabble, Jeep and Honda), Black Hole High (Twister, Sanyo and Audi), The Adventures of Shirley Holmes (Hershey's Cookies & Cream and Kodak), Monster Warriors (Volkswagen) and Dinosapien (Chevrolet).

Not much money in it. Most Canadian TV relies on government grants and has low ratings. It's just more cost effective for a company to buy a commercial.

  • Why do guys try to outrace me? Today I was trying to have a nice drive when a guy in a Cadillac gets on my bumper, then side by side with me, rubs his engine, takes off while staring at me going 75 mph? I've had this happen in mini vans, jaguars, camaros, hondas, everything and anything. I drive a Mustang, half the time they can outrace me anyway why should I care and why are they trying to prove something to me? I think it's mean.
  • What's your dream car and why? Mine is a 4 way tie between the Hennessey Venom GT, The 2015 Acura/Honda NSX, Corvette Stingray C7 and a n Audi R8. I love the Venom because of its speed (fastest car in the world), the NSX and R8 because of its sleek design and the Stingray because its been a family favorite since my grandpa had one.
  • Is owning an apple product a status symbol? Some of the people I've talked to compare iphones, macs, ipads etc as a mercedes benz or lexus. They described android or PCs etc as a honda or toyota They said driving a luxury car is a status symbol. The cars are nice yet driving a honda or toyota does the same stuff but without breaking the bank. What do you think?
  • Why does the screen on my honda odyssey go dark? I have a honda odyssey 2005 and I notice the DVD screen will go dim at random times how can I fix this? Ps it seems to happen when it rains and stuff if it's automatic is there a way to override it?
