Why won't my 1982 honda magna idle?
It runs good riding it but it just won't idle. I have to hold it at 3000rpm to idle. It set for years
When pilot jets and fuel inlets accumulate gum and resins from stale gas it will interfere with idle.
If you're able, take the carbs apart and thoroughly clean them. If that's more than you are able to do, take it to the shop.
What you describe sounds like clogged pilot jets.

- 83 honda magna won't crank? New batery. When i turn the key the lights come on. With the kickstand up and clutch in and the bike in neutral, when i push the start button my lights dim but there's no sound. The nutral light is coming on. I already tried bypassing the clutch sensor and i don't think the kickstand has a sensor. The batery is charged and when i jump it with my cars batery it has the same problem.
- 1982 Honda nighthawk problems? I just got a nighthawk. I was going down the road and the bike just spuddered down and came to a stop. Its turning over but its not fireing. Fuel line is good. And we're getting spark. Any ideas?
