97 honda accord running hot at idle?
I have a 97 honda accord that was running fine until it got hot outside. It runs fine in the mornings at abt 50 degrees or less. In the afternoon abt 65 degrees or high it starts to get hot at an idle or stop. And by that i mean it goes past the middle line. I just got it back from a mechanic they replaced the whole fan motor and also found a bad oil leak and replaced the vtech valve. I drove it back home abt 35 min away and the car did well until i got abt 5 minutes home through red lights and it started running hot again. It didn't go to the red but it went a little above the middle and highest being between hot and the middle line. I called the mechanic back and he told me to run the ac while i drove home to see if that would help the fans kick on. While running the ac if at a stop it stayed a tad above the middle line. What could this be? After i turn the car off you can hear the fans on.

That's normal.
It is not running hot if it is only slightly about the center of the temperature gauge. This is normal.
- Does power steering fluid get hot if the car is just running and the steering isn't being used? If the pump is just spinning, recirculating fluid and nothing else… Would it still get hot? I had to bypass the pump from the rack and have the fluid recirculate. Would the pump get hot from just spinning? I know 8th gen Honda's don't have a cooler for the power steering anyways.

I have changed both thermostats, water pump, head gasket && radiator but it still continues to run hot. My mechanic says I need a new motor but I would only need a new motor if the oil && water are mixing which they aren't. Inside the car the temperature may not say it's running hot but if you look at the hood you'll see steam comin from the BRAND NEW radiator.
- My 1995 honda civic is having problems running at idle? My car runs great when i'm driving but when i stop at a stop light, it will bog up and down. When i press the gas, it will run fine again. It is only when my foot is on the brake. It also runs fine when it is in Park. Help me please! I have already replaced the spark plugs.
- 96 honda civic running hot after a long drive at stop lightd? I have a 96 honda civic just changed water pump, thermostat and all belts. Having to check oil every day, losing coolant out if radiator cap which is also fairly new. My husband drives about 200 miles a day, at a constant speed car runs great at normal temps but in the afternoon on his way home as soon as he gets into stop and go traffic temp goes up. What should we fix next?
