White Smoke coming from car?
I drive a 2004 Honda Accord EX V6, the other day i was driving home and once i pulled into the driveway and parked i noticed a bit of smoke coming from the hood. So i decided to wait till daytime to start the car up and take a look. Once i started the car i saw smoke coming from the back of the engine, it wasn't a thick smoke it was more of a light steam if you will, but i barely had my car on for 2-3 minutes once it started. Can anyone give me some insightful advice/opinion on what you think it might be
i also just had my car shipped here the other day from germany and it took it like 3 months to finally get it so it has been sitting for a while.
Added (1). @aysha yes there was a smell.
These have been recalled for a power steering hose that runs in the back there on the v/6s. It leaks onto the exhaust and smokes. Get a flashlight and look while it is running.
Water may be leaking out somewhere (from a hose). Or you drove true snow or water somewhere and it just evaporates from the hot parts of your engine. If it does not smoke permanently and you are not missing fluids, then maybe you have no problem at all. You can always get it checked out in a shop.
Was there any kind of smell as well? Could be a coolant leak
- Why so car paint turn white? I see a lot of Hondas year 2008+ and they have the paint on roof peel like white stuff what cause that to happen if there like new and only Hondas have that for new cars i don't see any other brand that is almost new with the paint so bad
- Mechanic said he rebuilt the engine, smoke coming out of engine, could it be the grease burning off? The mechanic said he rebuilt the engine to my 1974 Honda CB550 I bought from him. Said he rebuilt the engine and is in perfect running condition. He has many bikes lying around and seems as if he is a hobbyist for bikes. He told me that he basically greased up a lot of parts of the motor and it is burning the grease off. The next oil change I do should remove the excess grease.
- Whys is my car blowing out smoke? I replaced the engine on the car about 5 month ago and recently is blowing out white smoke? It's a 1997 honda civic ex It doesn't leak
- Too much oil in engine, white smoke? I excessively overfilled my engine with oil (more than 5 quarts) in my 2001 Honda Civic EX. I drained the excess oil out after the car would not allow me to acclerate. After draining the excess oil and refilling it to its correct levels, smoke keeps coming out from the exhaust when the car is idle and when I drive it around the block for several minutes. The smoke is rather light in color (almost white or light grey). What could possibly be wrong with my car and how should I go about this?
