Well if there's a safety issue with their cars. Then they have to do a recall. Or they can be fines millions of dollars. Just like what happen to Chrysler motors.
I think all automakers recalled around 50 million last year. Yes, follow recalls as needed. Never know and it is to your benefit. Rather routine.
Hi Honda like the majority of japanese car makers care about customer safety unlike some home grown manufactures. So yes a recall is needed and you should get it done. For your safety and peace of mind.
It is probably a real notice (you don't mention the model or year and what the recall was about, so we can't verify it). A call to the service department of your local dealer to schedule it will be the best confirmation. The recall does not cost you anything.
If you look closely, the Honda's sold in Japan weren't recalled until the US government MADE Honda recall their American sold cars.
Yes, the notice is real… Seeing as it has your vehicle VIN#.
Because they are making discoveries which did not show up in initial testing, but only by many consumers having the SAME problem. Then they figure out how to fix it so that no more would potentially suffer the same problem… And then recall them back for the "FIX". As models change every so many years, things are bound to go wrong.
. In mine it was the electrical controls in the door handle(they would get wet in a rain and short out)-not in mine but in others like mine so they do a recall as they have a fix for that. Took them 15 minutes to do. No charge.
That is a 2007. Every car after that year had the modification added in the assembly procedure.
All manufacturers are on that "hook". In order to maintain a good name with the consumer, they do not try to flog off a piece of Junk for 15K. For a 2 cent fix… It is just not worth it.
The safety recall is a generic term… And can cover a wide range of things. My car has been in 4 times since new on these recalls. Heck, it just costs me the time to drive there and wait until it is done. No biggy. I made an appointment and went when it was convenient FOR ME.
You name the car brand and they do it [if there's a problem]
Because it can be a safety issue that can cause serious injury or death to the driver, passenger or safety concern to other vehicles on the road.
Their most recent recall is about their airbags.
The recall notice should come directly to Honda Motor Corp itself. Call your local dealer and tell them about the recall campaign for your car. They should set you up for an appointment for fix your recalled part for free.
- Why don't people buy a real car? It's crazy with all the money people dump into a car they could of saved up an bought a real sports or muscle car. Instead they'd buy a Honda, Volkswagen, or Mitsubishi. An waste money from car lowering it, buying bodykits or horrible rims that don't even help with performance. Can't forget a big spoiler, painted rims or a painted hood. Or cheap aftermarket parts. Like honestly why not save up a little drive a pos an leave it the way it is?
- What results will I notice once i replace the o2 sensor in my car? My car is a 2003 Honda Element Ed awd auto. I've had a check engine light on my dash for a while and I brought it to a mechanic for a diagonistic scan and it comes out to be a bad o2 sensor. My inspection is due in a few months and I'll have to get it replaced But my question is what symptoms will having a bad o2 sensor do to my car? Will it affect off the line acceleration, will it affect acceleration at any speed? Will it affect my cars gas mileage and top speed?
- Paying for Honda Loaner Car From Dealership while Paint Recall is Being Fixed? I'm going to be paying $33/day for (1 to 2 weeks) for a loaner car from my honda dealership while its away in the shop. Is there any flexibility in picking what car I want or do they automatically assign me a car. I feel like since i'm paying i should be able to pick what car I want, or even pay a little more for something nicer?
