1999 Honda Passport Problems?
So I have a 1999 Honda Passport. I got it from a used car dealer (yeah I'm stupid) and it has a lot of problems with the transmission. I read in the manuel that the car has detected a problem in the transmission, and it's been going into backup mode, where the gears don't shift automatically. The question I'm asking is how to shift the gears while I'm driving. The two gears I would be using would be 2 for speeds between 15 mph and 50 mph, and L for starting from a stop or going on hills. It's probably an obvious question but I'm an 18 year old girl who's never owned a car before, so I just need to know specifically how to switch between those gears while driving. This includes going from 2 to L for a stop and for a hill. It would be much appreciated!
Keep it in DRIVE. If the vehicle is in limp mode due to transmission problems make the dealer take it back. The salesman probably erased the codes and new it would take a few days driving for limp mode to trigger again. They're screwing you.
