How much does a transmission cost for a 2002 honda accord?
I want to buy this cheap honda accord for 1000 dollars but the guy said that it needs some transmission work. I have absolutely no idea what this means. He said that he took it to a mechanic and he said that it has a few more months on it before it needs to be looked at. Anyone have any idea what this possibly means or how much it will cost? Is it worth buying?
A 02 Accord with fair condition worth about $3500, so $1000 is not a good buy if you have to replace the transmission at a cost about $2500 and who know what else is wrong with the car? I'll walk.

Never buy a can which the owner doesn't think is worth fixing, he admits the car has tranny problems. He knows the car is not worth the repair, be smart, walk away now. He knows it is not worth the money to repair it, or he would repair it…
You are looking at least another grand, minimum. Be very careful. If could be even more extensive if other connecting parts of the drivetrain have failed as well. But expect to pay at least $1000 to get it rolling again, maybe even double.
