Nothing. I would not buy it at any price. There are way too many used cars for sale for anyone to settle on a reconstructed vehicle.

Look up Kelly Blue book value for starters. Now the car is worth 1/2 -2/3 of that. It can still be a damn good car, but that previous totaling drops it's value. The only insurance for it is liability and you are on your own to fix it if damaged or wreck.

Like any other vehicle, it depends upon the mileage, the condition, and whether any owner history or service history is available. It would certainly be a lot less than a vehicle without a salvage title. At least half of normal retail value, if not less. A guess says somewhere between $3000nand $4000.

I wouldn't buy a car that was totaled. You don't even know if the person that bought it from the recycler and fixed it up knows what they were doing. If the SRS airbag light is on that alone can cost $3000 for parts to repair the system. Someone's looking for a sucker.

Flood car? Wouldn't take it for $100.

It would depend on the vehicle and the reason for a salvage title. I have seen vehicles that were stolen and not recovered until after the insurance company paid the claim, and they are listed as salvage because of the insurance claim. Several of these had no damage and actually had the keys in them when recovered

In some areas, if a vehicle is impounded by the police and the owner does not pay the fees and claim the car, the car must be sold by the tow company to a salvage yard. The salvage yard can then apply for a salvage title and sell the vehicle. I have seen some vehicles that were impounded when the owner was arrested and they owner was not able to get the car back seeing as they were in jail. In one case the truck had 207 miles on it and it was sold to a scrapyard and then resold with a salvage title. It has nothing wrong with it.

In other cases a salvage title is issued because the vehicle is damaged and the insurance company calls it a total loss. The value of the vehicle would depend on the damage, mileage and current condition.
