What is the maximum cruising speed my car can sustain in RPMS for a 9 hour road trip on the Autobahn?
The car is a 2003 Honda Element. It is an awesome model and it has 160 hp I believe. It is a 2.4l KA24 engine that is used most of the other Honda car models such as the 4 cylinder Accord. The car redlines at 6500 rpms.
How many rpms can this car comfortably cruise at the maximum without risking engine damage and a rapid decrease of its lifespan?
With a 15 year old car you shouldn't be thinking of red lining it
Somewhere around 70 -80 mph is probably it's cruising speed. This usually equates to around 3,000 rpm on petrol (gas) engines
I would also advise a break every 3 hours to ease the stress on the engine. Fuel consumption will be greatly improved by cruising at 65mph
Obviously the above is conditional on the car being properly maintained with all fluid levels checked and tyres inflated to the correct pressure. If the car is fitted with a timing belt you also need to check when it was last changed.
2003 Honda Element troll strikes again.
5500
- What is the maximum speed my car and cruise at in terms of rpms for an indefinite period of time without risking problems? My car is a 2003 Honda Element with 4wd automatic. The car has 160 hp with 161 ft lbs of torque. It redlines at 6500 rpms. At want maximum RPM can this car sit at and still last me 300,000 to 400,000 miles? Can it cruise 4,000 rpms with no problems and still last me up to 300,000 - 400,000 miles or chances are it won't and it would overheat?
- Motorcycle for 3 hour trip? Wich motorcycle is better for a 3 hour trip a ninja 250 or a honda rebel 250 and can you ride with a passenger?
- Honda Nighthawk road trip? About to take my first big motorcycle road trip. Going from Kansas to Texas on my 1992 Honda nighthawk 750. My question is if the bike that old will make it there and back without much trouble and if they make saddle bags and windscreens etc that fit that type of bike? Any pointers would help thanks!
- Honda owners: is there a difference in top speed between 4 speed and 5 speed element? My car is an 03 auto awd ex. I'm just curious, what top speed before drag effect comes into Affect? Can it achieve over 100 mph? I've heard that it can do 1-10 but I'm not sure whether that's for the 5 speed or the automatic bc the extra gear makes a difference in my opinion.
