Brake light switch and headlamp rewiring?
Honda Dio DLX
My scooter's brake lights are always on and don't need to hold either of the brake levers to use the electric start. Is this going to drain my battery?
If it is, I can re-wire the whole thing and still start the engine without having to hold the brake levers so that the brake lights won't stay ON.
I just want to start the scooter without holding the brake lever.
And is it completely okay to connect the headamp and park light directly to battery?
If lights are always on they will drain the battery, the idea of holding the brake is for your safety.
You could wire the headlights to the battery but these would also kill your battery.
Honda has wired up your bike this way for safety and reliability.
I advise you have it how they intended it to be.
- Check engine light, open door light, and batterie light all came on and won't go off? 2000 Honda Odyssey I already had the altinator replaced it a month old. The batterie almost a year old. Would the belt need be changed or something else?
- My rear lights don't come on when light switch its turn on. They only turn on when i press the brake pedal? (same with the cluster assmbly) on my 1992 honda civic 4 door. All bulbs are good. Just replaced all fuses.
- Replaced my ignition switch but lost the key to that replacement ignition switch? I just replaced the ignition switch in my 2003 honda accord from another used 03 accord. The replacement switch obviously came with it's key. However my mechanic apparently lost the key to the replacement switch and now I'm in a rut. Not sure what to do. What are my options?
- My check engine light was flashing yesterday and now it's off, and today my red oil change light was flashing earlier and then stopped? What does that mean? I drive a Honda Accord, if that helps. My car is driving fine (just a slight jerking every now and then, but that's another issue i'll get fixed). The fact that it did that then stopped worries me… Help?!
