Can you use TransX stop leak fluid for your 98 honda instead of regular red fluid?

I saw that my transmission had no oil in it and I got TransX fluid for it. Can I fill it up with that instead of regular atf red fluid? This fluid was not red.

Only one container/quart or whatever. The rest needs to be tranny fluid. Warning. Honda's don't like anything but Honda fluid.

I wouldnt. If it has a bad seal i'd get it replaced. Those stop leak products are temporary at best and harden up the rest of the seals which will eventually fail also.

First best answer to Ron. Honda automatics will technically accept Dexron, but they shift roughly. I would be very hesitant about trying a stop-leak in one.

Yes

No, only use Honda transmission fluid. The wrong transmission fluid will have it leaking and slipping.

No you add it with transmission fluid

Did you check the ATF level with the motor running like you need to? You're about to ruin your tranny! The color of the ATF should be red or pink and it MUST be the correct type of ATF not just red. Only buy Honda ATF. You'll be needing a rebuilt transmission if you don't use Honda ATF.

No, it says right on the label not to do that. I almost bought some of that stuff by mistake the other day, because it's right there with the transmission fluid. I would be nervous about using any "stop leak" formula in my car because I don't know what it's going to do.

Why not just lift the car up and see where the fluid is going? Probably just a seal or pan leaking. Easy enough to fix and service your transmission while you're at it.
