2007 Honda Civic LX cruise control won't work?

When i hit "cruise" to engage it, the light on the dash automatically turns off so i can't set it. I changed the fuse & it wasn't that. Might it just be the switch in the steering wheel?

You need to have a mechanic check the cruise sensor oscillation adjustment screw and make sure it is within factory specifications.

Any code in the PCM? Have it check out first as if the VSS is defected, the cruise system can't be engage. Usually will set code P0500 or P0501.

There are two indicator lights for the cruise control system:

One is the cruise Main switch indicator light on the dash cluster when you turn the system on.
The second one is Cruise control indicator light on the dash when you press the DEL/SET button and the light comes on to show the system is now activated.

Which light won't stay engage or won't stay lit? In the Under dash fuse/relay box: Check fuse # 3 (10A) and fuse # 10 (7.5A) first. One of the two "Silver bullets" show below will correct the problem.

1- Is the horn is working? If not, replace the "Cable reel" switch locates under the steering wheel for the SRS system.

2- If the horn is working: Replace the Cruise control combination switch on the steering wheel.

  • What is the maximum speed my car and cruise at in terms of rpms for an indefinite period of time without risking problems? My car is a 2003 Honda Element with 4wd automatic. The car has 160 hp with 161 ft lbs of torque. It redlines at 6500 rpms. At want maximum RPM can this car sit at and still last me 300,000 to 400,000 miles? Can it cruise 4,000 rpms with no problems and still last me up to 300,000 - 400,000 miles or chances are it won't and it would overheat?
  • My 2007 Honda Element has a mint body and interior and under 64,000 miles but due to its age it needs about 4k in work, here is the list New tires, front struts with dust boots and bump stops, rear shocks, alignment, water pump, universal belt, front lower ball joints, outer tie rod ends, timing side engine mount, rear brakes, flush and bleed the system and emergency brake adjustment. Should I do the work and keep it due to low miles and good eyeball condition?
  • 2007 Honda rebel won't start lights don't work? So I left the key turned for a few hours and the battery died. I got it charged and checked and everything shows as being good. My roommate tried jump starting it when I went to work so I don't know if that hurt something. All the fuses are good. However when I turn the key the bikes lights don't come on, nothing works. I can put it in first and the get a running start to crank it by popping the clutch. That works for day time riding, but at night the lights are dim. Any ideas?
  • Turn signals/hazard lights won't work in my Honda Civic 2000? One of my buddies installed an aftermarket radio in for me, but now my turn signals/hazard lights aren't working. The fuses looks fine, but i don't know jack about the wires behind the radio so i'm not sure what to do. I'm not trying to shell out a buck fifty for a shop if it turns out its just a plug that isn't plugged in. Any tips? Are there any wires that may be unplugged, loose, bent that I need to plug back in or take a look at? If so, what do they look like?
