8th Gen Civic Owners
This weekend, i'm going to be looking at a 2007 Civic Coupe LX with 175k miles. It is a manual transmission. The asking price is 3500 but i'm going to try to talk him down to 3200. Should I buy it if everything looks good? Originally I wanted a Civic from the year of 96-2000 because the motors are so cheap. Keeping in mind, if i purchase this 07 Civic, I plan on keeping it for a long time. My question is, should I get it and what are things to look for when I go check it out and what type of maintenance will it require? I know that they have timing chains so some of my worries went away. Lastly, are they reliable cars? I know Honda has a great rep for going past 250k miles but I was just wondering how good 8th gens are.
Too many miles at $3500, it has issues, trust me. Start at $2500 and $2750 tops. Don't be foolish with your money.
- Tuned Honda owners, how old are you? This question is only for those who owns a modified Honda (If you only change the wheels, that also counts). Best answer if you also specifiy the model and year of your car, and what modifications are made.
- Honda owners: is there a difference in top speed between 4 speed and 5 speed element? My car is an 03 auto awd ex. I'm just curious, what top speed before drag effect comes into Affect? Can it achieve over 100 mph? I've heard that it can do 1-10 but I'm not sure whether that's for the 5 speed or the automatic bc the extra gear makes a difference in my opinion.
- For Honda Reflex NSS 250 owners? I have a 2003 Honda Reflex scoot. What is the correct v-belt size like, for example, the original OEM size? I'm replacing a shredded belt with a 906 22.5 and seems too small?
- If in the owners manual it says I should use 5W-20 motor oil, can I use 10W-40 motor oil instead? I have a 2009 Honda Fit. I just recently bought 10W-40 and when I got home to put oil in the manual said 5W-20. What's the difference? And is it okay if I still use the 10W-40?
