Are 2012/2013 Mercedes Benz C-Class good cars?

So i'm 17 and i've had a 2000 honda civic since i was 15 1/2. It was my starter car and my parents think i'm ready for my real car now. Weve been looking at cars and a benz was not a forst choice but i drove a 2013 c350 and i fell in love but i keep hearing its not reliable. But i can't find any honest reviews on them. So if you have a c class from this year can you please tell me about yours? Is ot reliable? Expensive to fix? What problems have you had?

Great car, Very expensive to fix both mechanically and body damage so insurance will be very high.

I'm assuming your definition of "honest reviews" boils down to "reviews that agree with me."

After a long family history with Mercedes cars (My Dad and Uncle always ran them) I have had 3 'C' Classes from new, covering over 100,000 miles in each. They are the most reliable cars you could buy.
Parts are expensive, but you simply don't need them. All 3 of my cars cost almost nothing over 100k miles other than routine servicing, and after warranty expires… If you find an independent specialist (rather than a main dealer) is also very reasonable.
Mercs also hold their value well. The key is service history. Don't buy a car without a FULL service history.
That, My friend is my 'honest review' !

I'm guessing you're from the USA, am I right? Mercedes seems to have a reputation for poor reliability over there; I've no idea why - it's no less reliable than any American car, and more reliable than most. Granted, Japanese cars beat both Europeans and Americans, but that's a bit different thing. Also, if and when something goes wrong, parts and labour will be more expensive than for American makes, at least if you use MB dealers, but again that's not really a reliability issue, and in any case the cost difference isn't huge.
