Do cheap $50 struts last at least 2-3 years?

My 2002 Honda civic has 126,000 miles on the original oem struts. Those are $170 each at the dealer so $350 for 2 oem front struts & that does not even include the $500 of labor. An independent mechanic will do the labor for $180 with free alignment so if I buy cheap struts I would pay $280 total. Your thoughts?
I drive the car 5,000 miles a year.

Go with your independent mechanic. No reason to pay top dollar at a stealership for a 2002.

That's a good price.

At 5000 miles a year, it does not matter much about the quality.
The $180 for installation and an alignment is a steal

  • What's your most and least favorite car brands? State a specific model if you want. Favorite- 3 way tie between Porsche, BMW, and Mercedes. I have a Mercedes C320 and it's very reliable. I also own a Honda but I want to replace it with a BMW X5. I do hate a few of their cars such as the BMW X6 Least favorite- Dodge and Chrysler. Not impressed by their styling and build quality. I also hate Toyota, i know their cars are good but their cars just doesn't impress me

  • What are the best 4 stroke dirt bikes to get (from greatest to least)? I'm thinking about trading my Honda cr85 big wheel for a 4 strike but I'm wondering what are some excellent 4 stroke dirt bikes that are about the same size as my cr85 big wheel?
  • Least attractive common car to women? What would be a car that a potential date would find LEAST attractive… I'm talking about fairly popular cars made recently (after 1990) OR a general type of car (like hatchback for example). Would it be a Honda? Maybe a Toyota Camry?
