Honda Civic si (8th or 9th) vs Mitsubishi Lancer vs Mazda Speed 3/6? - 1

I read good things about the Mitsubishi Lancer but everyone I know hates them… Plus they've went almost bankrupt the last 5-6 years while they may not even sell any cars in the US in 2015.

I need a reliable car that looks good, that's sporty and still reliable.

The Honda civic si (8th gen) is ugly to me. The 9th is cool but a little too pricey for me right now

I haven't looked into mazdas much but the speeds are decent looking and the seem to be pretty quick.

Any advice would be great. I'm 19 and I'll be commuting to school next year so I'll need something that will be reliable but I still wanna smoke suckas on the highway haha.

Out of those 3 cars the civic will give you the best reliability. The only Lancer worth owning is the Lancer Evolution. Even at that Mitsubishi's aren't reliable cars with horrible dealer services and the company has had a steady decline here state side.
The Speed 3 is a great car but FWD turbo cars inherently all have the same problem, they're FWD. Witch causes wheel spin, massive torque steer and understeer.
Don't even bother with a Speed 6. There's a reason they were phased out in favor of the Speed 3. Though it does offer AWD and a 6 cylinder turbo engine.
Why not look at those cars main competition. The Subaru WRX. AWD plus a turbo 4 cylinder. With decent gas mileage and one of the most reliable turbo engines around.
My advice would be, go for the Civic Si if you want something sporty, reliable and good on gas. You're headed to your first year of college and only 19. I wouldn't recommend a turbo vehicle mainly because turbo = more parts to fail = more money spent.
