How to remove bolt on car?
I'm replacing the immobilizer on my Honda Civic EX manual speed 2001. I received a new one in ebay, and it not only has the immobilizer, but an entire part that wraps around the steering wheel.
The one off ebay has the metal clamp with two bolts that have grooves cut for a flat head screwdriver. The one on my car has flat bolts -- and no obvious way to remove them. Do I have to cut grooves in the metal somehow to remove with a screwdriver?
Isn't this stupid planning on Honda's part?
Are they hex shaped bolts? If so, use a hex socket driver to remove them.
Are you taking about ignition lock cylinder
If your talking about the 2 piece collar that goes around steering column that mounts ignition switch? Those 2 screws are designed as tamper proof. When you install them the hex head breaks off, so that they can't be removed easily. That is for the steering wheel lock and anti theft.
You need to drill out the screws. I had good luck and drilled them from the back side and they came right out.
Go to honda and have them price you an OEM part and labor for installation. Don't put ebay junk on your car, especially with this particular system.

- Magna Fork pinch bolt replaced with some sort of pin I have a 1984 Honda Magna VF700C and I need to replace the front tire. Problem is, the axle pinch bolt has been replaced with some sort of pin similar to the four above the front fender. How do I get this out? I know a new bolt would be cheap, but has anyone ever heard of this, and is it possible that the threads are ruined? What kind of cost am I looking at if they are?
- What can my solution be with? Its one of the hold down bolt holes for the valve cover? The picture is the hold down bolt hole for my valve cover on my 1996 Honda civic sohc. I guess the previous owner messed the hole up. What can I do about this?
