If I buy a used car (63 plate 2013/14) will I get hit by the new road tax rates?
I'm looking at buying a used car (63plate Honda Civic 1.6 disel) and the road tax is free at the minute. Will the road tax go up for me if I buy it after March 31st or is it just new cars?

No. The new road tax rates only apply to cars first registered on or after 1st April 2017, so not even all 17-plate cars will be affected. They will not apply to a 63-plate car.
However the current rates can be changed by the Government if they decide to - they just haven't decided to change them for a few years.
