My 2010 Honda Civic EX Does not respond to my remote key?
It was Working fine about 9 hours ago. Now i go to open the car with the remote and nothing happens. The only light that turns on is the alarm light in orange nothing else. It won't start the car either. Only way to get in the car is using the key. Can't open passenger door or turn on anything
Sounds like the battery has been flat for a long time and the roling code has been lost. They use a rolling code system so that the code can't be scanned and cloned.

This video will show you how to replace the key fob battery with the battery type (Information)
If the battery has been out for a long while then it could be out of synchronization and thus would not work. The dealer can re-program it for you but might be a few pennies for what's actually a very easy job.
Or you can try this: The following procedure might work:
- Insert new battery into the keyfob.
- Unlock the car with the key, place the key in the ignition and turn it to the "Start" position (Do not press the "Start" button"
- Press and hold the locking key on the keyfob for 15 seconds, and your keyfob should be OK.
Or try this:
Put the key (With new battery) in the ignition and turn the ignition on and press the lock button on the fob within 3 seconds then turn the ignition off.
You need to do this 4 times, on the 4th time the doors will lock, you then press the lock button on the faulty key within 3 seconds and you will hear the locks go again (you need to have the faulty fob in the car with you) the faulty fob will now be good again.
This video will help to program the key fob:
Hope it help. HTH
Might need new battery

- My car won't unlock w/ the key remote? - 1 I've a 2000 Honda Civic. Today, the unlock remote wouldn't unlock the car. I replaced the battery in the remote today and it still won't unlock the car. What do I do next, and how would I go about doing it? For example, how can I move my car to a mechanic or dealership if I can't get into it? Tow? Thanks *And how do I get inside the car w/o setting off the alarm? Or is the alarm off now, since the car may be out of sync w/ the remote?
