Other cars similar to 2007 infiniti fx35?

I'm 18 and looking for a car of my own. I've been driving a 2008 honda civic (sisters) and i've decided that i hate it. Fwd sucks in snow (here in nj), and its too slow for on ramps and highway driving.

my Friend has a 2007 infiniti fx35 and I want a car similar to it ( suv type, raised above ground, pretty good power (280hp)) but I want a manual. Do any cars exist like that? Budget is 6000

Hard to believe NJ snow is different than other snow, where FWD is much better for it. A RWD with a lot of HP is horrid in the snow. Find a used Mustang in that range and good luck.

Get a used Subaru. Will not have the 280 hp but it will be in your price range.

Stop acting like a child, real life is no racing game. It's exactly immature guys like you that cause deadly accidents.

With a manual transmission? No such animal, Kurt.

If you can stomach a FWD or AWD vehicle with an automatic tranny the Lexus RX350 would be extremely similar to the Infiniti. In fact the RX has better overall quality and reliability and pushes 270 brake horsepower.

Subaru WRX, maybe(not sure on the 3 letters). I know that Honda is a Low ground clearance car. All cars come with a standard transmission. These are the low priced cars (as the autotrans is $1000 extra) but understand that the majority of drivers prefer automatic.(many can't drive a manual shift) so resale of the car is harder because it cuts out a portion of the buying public. Most of the US population prefer automatics so that is why that is the dominant transmission type sold. Standard transmission is like a special order.
FWD has nothing to do with the speed on the ON Ramps. That is engine horsepower 115 and transmission gearing and the driver knowing how to drive a manual. (You need to look for bigger spaces.) Face it, the cars being made now are FWD. The old ways RWD are being shelved… Except in Pickup trucks. Can't get rid of car advancements.

But there's NO REASON you can't drive the Honda more "like a standard" Just shift into L1 and start off and when the engine RPM is up switch to L2(and the car goes faster) and then slip it into D. - instead of starting off in D. You will have faster pickup. All auto transmissions are shiftable.

As for the snow, TIRES MATTER. Some are better than others and how much wear is on the Snow tire.(the ones with the "snowflake" on the side, those are snow tires. Most people by All season tires which are not as good for snow (but better than summer tread)
