Should I buy 2009 Yaris hatchback or 2008 Civic sedan? - 1
Can someone tell me which one is a better choice - these are the options from private listings:
1. 2009 Toyota Yaris 3 door hatchback, 31K mileage - price obo $9500
2. 2008 Honda Civic sedan, 71K mileage - price obo $10500
Both cars are garage kept and in good conditions. Nothing special about their additional options - both of them are basically base models. The prices are within the range of KBB and NADA.
My budget is to spend max $10K.
I'm a student who mostly needs to go from point A to B (my apartment is close to campus) but I might want to travel around states during holidays. Gas saver and low maintenance costs are my top priorities. Size is not my priority because I just need the car for myself.
This is going to be my first car and I just recently learn driving. Any suggestions?
Both are known for reliability, but even reliable cars can break.
The lower the mileage, assuming equal treatment, the less likely that you will have problems.
BUT, for a first car, or any car, the best choice is the one that you will enjoy the most.
SO, choose the one that you would like to see yourself driving for the immediate future. Don't over think the decision.
The civic in my opinion. I have a civic coupe with 160 thousand miles and still going strong with few problems from when I got if with 90 thousand miles
Definitely the yaris. It's cheaper and it's a hatchback. Hatchback always wins over sedans… Sedans are for boring old people. Hatchbacks are cool and fun and more useable truck space.
- 2009 Honda Fit or 2009 Honda Civic? My grandma is getting a new car. She has had a black 1995 jetta for years now. She wants to get a honda. What would you think would be good for an old lady? Should it not be a honda?
- What should I get and why, Honda civic 94 or a 2000 civic hatchback? I'm still deciding which is better for me the 94 civic or the 2000 and of course I like racing cars even though is my first car. Which one should I get and why?
- Should I just buy a Honda civic hatchback LX CVT or lease it? It's pretty inexpensive compared to other cars, but I don't know about wanting to drive it for a long time. How much am I "losing" compared to buying if I lease it? It's around $2000 down and $180~ a month for 36 months + return fee, etc. If I do end up purchasing it at the end of the lease contract, I wouldn t lose as much right? If I do buy I have $4000 for the down and the APR is 2.7-2.99%.
- Should i buy a Scion 2014 or a Honda Civic si 2014 Sedan? I like both cars, My reason for liking the Tc is that the Car looks nice and its sport and inexpensive. However, The fact that its a Coupe and it only has 179 horsepower that just throws it off right there. I like the honda civic si because it offers 4 doors and its looks nice.
