Should I trade my civic for a celica?

I have a 1995 modified honda civic with 127,000 miles. It has like many things and I love it. But the problem is that it's an automatic and I don't like automatics. I like manuals. So I decided to set it up on craigslist for trade and this guy has a 2000 toyota celica which has 186,000 miles. It's a 6speed manual celica gts. I like that car, nothing wrong with it, awesome condition but the problem is the miles. It has 186,000 miles while my civic has 127,000 miles. Now I know it is 5 years newer than my civic but I'm not sure about the toyota engines. I like Hondas and vtec which my civic has. Toyota has, which I think, vvti engine. So should I make the trade or not? I like celica too but I also like my civic. So I don't what to do… And don't say that why I bought an automatic in the first place. It was a complicated situation which I can't describe.

I wouldn't. Toyota does make very good engines, but if you're looking to mod that car be wary. It doesn't have as big of a aftermarket support as the Honda.
If you really want a manual (and like your car) find out how much it would cost to have 1 installed… If there's a shop around willing to do it.

The more you trade cars, the more value you lose.

There are several issues.
On resale the automatic will sell faster. Only few people will buy an Manual Transmission, and then it depends on model. I had a manual Celica and I would trade a Honda Civic for it any day. The Honda Civic will outlast a Celica any day.
The Honda is rated by JC Powers to be a top model, both in longevity and maintenance costs. It's not a wise trade, but it's your choice, if an automatic trans drives you that nuts.

I wouldn't trade it. The Honda will last you a lot longer. I would trade for another Honda. Plus, if it has that many miles and is newer, it has probably been drivin harder than yours.
