What could I mess up from over accelerating a 2001 Honda Civic?
I have a 2001 Honda Civic LX 4dr 1.7ltr. I was coming home from work at night and I felt like driving fast ( I was already going 80) and I floored it to just under 100 and both my belts popped off. Luckily I was just before my Fwy exit so I made it home and the next day I got new belts but now I'm running into more problems. My harmonic balancer rolls a bit wobbly and I tightened it but when I started the car the bigger belt slipped off even though I'm sure its tight. What could my problem be?
Harmonic balancer is probably faulty, and that's why the belts came off in the first place.
The engine should run happily at any RPM under the red line (~6,000 rpm?). UNLESS there's already something wrong, which it seems there's with your engine. Faulty balancer, belt tensioner etc?
- Will running my headpipe mess up the engine on my 2009 Honda CBR600RR? I've seen lots of people say it's bad and others say that it won't bother the engine at all. So can someone please give me an answer. I've removed my stock exhaust and left just the headers on my bike. It seems to run normal, it's quite a bit louder though. This is not a permanent thing, just something I thought about doing for a couple months until I can get a full exhaust kit.
- What else could could be wrong? My stereo in my 2002 Honda civic la sedan wasn't working right so I had a friend check it out. Be got it so my stereo would work but now the a.c stopped working. When you try to use it the fans turn on for a second then automatically switch off. The mechanic shop said I need to change the control panel but I don't want to get a replacement then this isn't the issue. Is this all I can do to really know. What else could it be?
- I want a subwoofer for my car but I don't want to mess with the battery and stuff. Is this possible? I just bought a brand new honda civic hatchback (2017) and I want to add a subwoofer to the back. I've never done anything like this so i don't want to mess with that much stuff. I was wondering if there's like a subwoofer that I can attach to my phone with an aux splitter or Bluetooth. I know that subs take a lot of power so i'm wandering if a good one that I can just charge exists. Please let me know.
- 2000 Honda Civic, 170,000 miles. Was driving, and the car stopped accelerating? Was driving when the car stopped accelerating while I was pushing the pedal. Engine still revved, RPMs still went up. I coasted until I stopped and parked the car. Then I started the car again, was able to drive forward for about 500 feet into a safe parking lot and it happened again. Transmission related I suspect but I wanted some more knowledgeable opinions.
