Why could my 2000 Honda Civic show it's going to overheat I have coolant a nee radiator a new temp gauge switch and thermostat could it be?

I need a new timing belt and water pump

Better have a "block test" done before you do a timing belt. You may need a new head gasket.

If the cooling system won't hold pressure it will boil over. High pressure raises boiling point to higher than 220 degrees F. Your pressure loss could be in many places- leaking water pump, leaking hose, peaking radiator cap, blown head gasket, cracked cylinder head. Since you need a timing belt and water pump, that is priority on the list, but see to it this job is worth the trouble. If the head is cracked or head gasket bad, it will still be a $1500-$2000 problem needing repair after you spend $200-$400 for a new timing belt and water pump. Have your radiator cap checked and pray that's the only problem.

  • Why is the coolant from my radiator disappearing? (1998 Honda Prelude with a Jackson Racing supercharger) I replaced my old radiator because it cracked one day and was leaking. Before it had no problems as far as it just disappearing. I replaced my oem radiator for a Mishimoto radiator and ever since then it started disappearing.

One more thing is that the oil indicator does not light up at the start, any ideas why? The lamp is ok I've checked it already
  • Why is coolant leaking from the ends of my top radiator hose on my 1999 honda civic? There isn't water leaking from anywhere else and it only seems to leak when the car has since cooled. It's never enough coolant for me to have to keep filling it up. I have changed the hose and it still seems to be leaking from the end seams. Any help is appreciated. d16y7 aluminum radiator 1.1 rad cap
