Why does my 2008 Honda Civic radio keep turning off?
I have a 2008 Honda Civic. When I'm either using the radio or listening to my ipod on the auxilary it will do one the following randomly at different times.
a) It will randomly shut off, pressing the power button does not turn it back on
b) if I'm using the auxilary input it will randomly begin to switch to the radio, then proceed to switch between am and fm
c) Make random cracking sounds when there's no music playing
Sometimes the radio works fine for hours, other times it constantly does this. I noticed if I turn the car off then back on it seems to sometimes solve the problem for awhile but sometimes it does not.
Is there anything I can do myself to fix this?
Nope. It's toast. There's a problem internal to the radio and, quite simply, it's not cost feasible for anyone to fix it. When radios go south, you replace them.
- I have a 2006 Honda Metropolitan, WHen cold it starts up but i have to keep revving it to keep it going? I have already replaced the battery, air filter, spark plug, did an oil change, got new gas, cleaned out the carb. Once it is warm i have no issues with it. It usually takes about 3 to 4 min of driving it to get it warm but once warm everything is fine with stopping and going.
- You say is it legal to drive a 2008 Honda Civic Coupe car with the left headlight not turning on to light up the road? But the right headlight of the 2008 Honda Civic Coupe I drive is able to light up. The Daytime Running Lights are always on, and I drive the 2008 Honda Civic Coupe in New York State.
- Why does my car keep shutting off? I have a 1994 Honda civic. Sometimes when I start my car up, right after I start it up it like dies/shuts off. I then start it again and it's fine, every time it will start on the 2nd time, but it doesn't always shut off on the first time. Does anyone know why it does this?
- Sell this car or keep it? I have a 2008 honda civic with 150k miles. Recently, it had a cracked engine block? Honda honored the extended warranty and fixed this at no cost to me. I now have a brand new engine with no miles on it. Is this the start of several repairs, and should I sell it? Or should I keep this car?
