Do I need to check for loose nuts in my old car?
I have a 2001 honda crv. When I check the source of a clunk noise in it I found a loose nut in the control bar. I tightened it and no noise now. Do I need to check all the other nuts with somebody? Is there any such kind of service for old cars?
I find heaps of loose bolts on some old cars I work on. Start looking if your not confident you know what your doing take it to a mechanic and get him to do a 300 point safety check
Pay a a local mechanic for a 1/2 hour of his time put the vehicle up on a hoist and check for "loose stuff" He can check for fluid leaks from the engine, cooling system,. Brakes and power steering while he's at it.
- Trunk door latch loose and wobbly, door won't shut? I'm not even really sure what is holding the latch in if there are no screws there? Bough an 03 Honda pilot ex today. Anybody know what kind of screws go in there or whether I can just go to a mechanic or have to go to a dealer? I bought it from a private party
- Loose chain sound in my car at the start when AC is on When my AC is not on, the sound of my 2013 Honda CRV is okay. Only when the AC is turned on that I hear a seemingly "loose motorcycle/bicycle chain" AT THE START when I press the gas pedal. Afterwards, I can't hear anymore and everything is fine. When the AC is off, there's no sound like that even if I speed off immediately. What is the problem?
- Seat belt in car loose? I have noticed recently that the seat belt in my 2006 Honda Civic is looser than before. I'm assuming it's like that because of normal wear and tear. I was wondering if there's anyway that can be reversed or possibly fixed.
- Best wheel locking nuts for expensive wheels? I thought locking nuts were all same but I heard people saying get some quality ones if you got expensive wheels, what do they mean by that? Which locking nuts are best? I have 1996 Honda Civic EK4 with BBS wheels.
