Toyota highlander and rav4?

I'm looking to get a new SUV soon and wanted to find out about these two

Toyota highlander
Toyota rav4

I was also considering a honda crv

I need a vehicle That is reliable doesn't break down a lot of have May problems and gets decent to great gas milage.

What is toyota known for? Are these vehicles good choices for a reliable good gas milage SUV that will last years if maintained well?

They're both very reliable vehicles. It mainly comes down to how large a vehicle you want/need and how much you want/are able to spend.

For most purposes, the RAV4 is plenty large and is a nice, practical package. They're a decent value, get nice fuel economy, and are easy to own.

The Highlander is quite large. If you don't need that much space, its size may be an encumbrance. As mentioned, it isn't as easy on fuel as the RAV4.

Another model you may be interested in is the Mazda CX-5. It has the definite sportiness edge over the Toyotas and the CR-V. You get a lot more steering feel, better cornering ability, and sharp styling. I was helping my sister shop and after checking out the RAV4, Highlander and CR-V, she got a CX-5 and loves it.

The rav4 would be my choice. The CRV and the highlander look like minivans to me.

Those are both great choices. Both of those SUVs will get great gas mileage, and if maintained, will last forever. Choosing between the two depends on what you need. The Rav4 is a smaller SUV than the highlander, and it is a 4 cylinder. The Highlander is larger, and has a 3rd row seat. The highlander has a V6, so the gas mileage will not be as good as the rav, but it will still be very good. Toyotas are known for their durability and reliability. Ask a Toyota owner, I doubt anyone will say they are dissapointed with their car. I'm a dealer, and it is almost common for someone to come in with a Toyota with 400k+ miles and running strong! Also, Toyotas hold their value the best because people know they run forever, so if you go to trade it a few years down the road, it will still be worth good money.

  • Honda CR-V, Honda Pilot, Toyota Highlander, or Toyota RAV-4? I will be purchasing a used car in the upcoming weeks. I have been saving up money from my summer job and currently have about $4000 to spend. Which vehicle do you think I should get?

  • I'd like to buy a used Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V or Hyundai Tucson, Am I better off wit 4wd/Awd or 2wd/Fwd? I live in the suburbs of Chicago and want a small SUV because it sits up high. But the question is am I better off getting an AWD/4WD or a FWD/2WD model? I'm tempted on getting a FWD model to save on gas, insurance and slap on some snow tires in the winter. But I've heard that AWD models hold their value better though.
