1979 Honda XR200 Ignition Coil?

So I have a 1979 Honda XR200 dirt bike and I have it almost ready to drive but it needs a ignition coil. I went on eBay and did not find one… I was just curious if any one knew if there was an ignition coil that would fit my 1979 Honda Xr200 dirt bike?

Honda (and all of the Big Four) used some generic electrical parts so the coil for your bike was probably used on several bikes of similar size in the Honda range. An owner's club is probably a good place to start looking, there's almost certainly a cheaper pattern part available.

You could look on the auction web site in.au or.co.uk and import one if you find one? ( ebay )

  • Is the 1979 honda cb750f super sport reliable? A guy in town is selling one with 11,000 miles on it and says it runs great. Are there any known problems with them? I don't want to buy a bike that will end up needing lots of work to fix when it's only worth like $1000 anyways.
  • How to replace an ignition coil on a 79 honda xr500 dirt dike? Ok so I just bought a honda dirt bike and all it needs is a new ignition coil. First bike and I have no idea how how to install he coil I ordered one for 36$ from the local bike shop. Is that expensive? And if you can could you send a diagram or draw a very detailed pic. Or make a video to show it
  • Honda XR200R or XR200 2001? I'm thinking of buying this bike for around $1500 but I can't figure out whether XR200 and XR200R are the same because some websites and things say XR200 but I see lots of other places saying its XR200R. Really confused any help would be appreciated. Also any details about the bike/ bikes would be appreciated.
  • Replaced my ignition switch but lost the key to that replacement ignition switch? I just replaced the ignition switch in my 2003 honda accord from another used 03 accord. The replacement switch obviously came with it's key. However my mechanic apparently lost the key to the replacement switch and now I'm in a rut. Not sure what to do. What are my options?
