Is there any other repairs I'm missing?

I drive a 2009 Honda fit. I'm driving it cross country to Arizona tomorrow. New oem serpentine belt, new struts/shocks, new oem spark plugs, fresh fluids, new tires, I had replace the evap canister as well as solenoid (I had a check engine light), alignment, new air filter, cabin air filter, fresh mobile 1 oil change (always mobile 1) and new windshield wipers.
I fixed alot more than this but mechanically speaking this is all of it (it was a craigslist car. I love and hate it) I'm only 21 but I'm trying had to be a responsible owner. Lol

I hate this car but its extremely realiable and I need it to last/get me there. Am I missing anyting?
I have road side assistance, it has a timing chain so new replacement required, manual transmission, spare tire, battery jumper, tools, ect
I'm a broke student moving to Arizona on a transfer so I very paranoid…

Although its slow/Boring to drive. (PERFECT city car. Awful internsate car since it has 109hp.)

Anyway does this sound good to you guys? It's a honda so there stupid reliable but I really just wanted to get all of the maintenance done before hand so my car was the last of my worries unles starter, battery, ect (simple problems that could happen)

ATF needs to be changed every 60,000 miles. Do it at the dealer so there are records on file. If that vehicle has a CVT transmission and it fails you might have a chance for a customer good will warranty if the dealer has records you did transmission services.
Honda motors all have a common issue with the valves getting tight in the motor. The valves need adjusting every 60,000 miles.

Does your air conditioner work?

Make sure you have your cell phone and Triple-A card and you'll be covered.

Only thing I can think of is your spare tire situation. One non-mechanical failure that can derail a long roadtrip is a flat tire - if you get a flat tire, even if you have a compact spare tire, you're still usually stuck getting a new tire somewhere before you can complete the trip due to a compact spare not having much usable range before it too gives up.

It might be worth finding a cheap full-sized junkyard wheel with a tire already on it (that fits your car, obviously) to use as a spare for the long trip assuming you can fit it in the car somewhere. You can always sell it again once you arrive to get some/most of your money back on it if you don't end up using it. Roadside assistance is fine but if you have a flat and are more than ~100 miles from your destination with only a compact spare tire, you'll still probably end up having to get a new full-sized tire somewhere before you can finish.

Well, If the old one is still a complete loop, toss it in with the spare(just in case). A full size tire would be better than the "compact spare" Honda provides. If you go to the junkyard they should be able to match you up with another rim that fits.(whether it is from a 2009 or a different year(auto salvage guys know what fits to what) with a decent tire already mounted and balanced on the rim… For $20. Flats happen and are easy to change. The compact tire is good for 50 miles.@50MPH

Know that batteries last on average 5-7 years MAX(that is the $100 bat)
A $200 battery will last 10 years.(cars up in the NORTHERN countries generally sometimes came with that)
. So at max, you are on your second battery and will get maybe get 14 years(plan on 12yr). Starters will outlive the car body (I have had the same starter in cars for over 40 years) At most a starter ever needs is a new set of brushes. It is just an electric motor… Which is very reliable.

On my 2007 I would not have done half the stuff you did. Just change tires… And an oil change. Timing chains never need replacing… Unless there's 20 years on the motor.

It is a reliable car. You really can't ask for more Unreliable means you got to spend money FIXING IT. I would rather spend the money on beer.

Finally, get an audiobook or two to keep from going to sleep at the wheel, or from running out of audio entertainment where all the radio stations come and go every 50 miles or so. Sounds like there's no trouble to expect from your car. At 10 years, it's only half done.

  • Is there other causes for Code P1129, other than the MAP Sensor? I have a 2005 Honda Civic EX and my car has been idling and turning off on the road often. I'm currently not driving the car because of this issue. The OBDII scanner gives me a code of P1129, so I replaced the MAP sensor; however, even after I thought replacing the MAP sensor would fix it, the problem still exists. I need to use my car to get to work nowadays. Is there any other causes for code P1129? Any help is appreciated.
