My 2011 Honda Fit heater blower no longer has the low speeds. The high speed works but not the lower ones?
My 2011 Honda Fit heater blower no longer has the low speeds… The high speed works but not the lower ones?
Our shops have replaced quite a few of 2010 Fit blower resistor for the same problem during last year (Out of warranty) just to find out the vehicle were back within several weeks for blower motor replacement.
I don't know how many miles your Fit has accumulate but you may contact with the local Honda dealer and see if they have any extended warranty or good will program going because to me the blower motor/ resistor should last longer (5 years or longer) compare with the other Makes/ models.
We since have sent a few customers with their Fit vehicle to the dealers and a few were lucky with the "Good will" from the dealers. Some don't some do so I don't know.
This was triggered my question about the problem based on the following TSB for a 2009 Fit, Honda recommends replacing the blower motor in addition to the resistor, which will probably be a bit pricey. Wonder if replacing the motor is really necessary? We found out a few weeks later like I have said above.
Remember you can't get this information or the TSB and "Force" the dealer to repair the vehicle for free. It's up to their call and good will. As I've already checked: 2011 Fit does not have any recalls. See it for yourself:

Good luck to you. HTH

It can possibly be mended by mechanic as he did for me because he is my friend or new part would be around $150 in Canada as he said. I really have no idea what part is called, all I'm saying small chance you can fix it as it would be very had to explain where the part is and how to get it out. Anyways mine was under the under glove box compartment.
Could be a fuse blew or the blower motor resistor, if its that its just up under the passenger side on the floor below the glove box. Get a book if you want to fix it yourself or youtube a tutorial. Its relatively cheap to fix
TSB 09-097 from Honda indicates a problem with the blower motor which draws too high a current and blows out the thermal limiter in the resistor block. The only remedy is to replace the motor and the resistor block together. Repairs are covered by the standard warranty and has no provisions for extensions.
The usual very comprehensive answer from liverhuyen2003. The resistor pack problem is seen in a lot of vehicles. The pack has a thermal fuse and is almost always mounted in the duct near the blower motor. As long as the motor is blowing air across the pack all is well, but if the air flow is too low the heat generated in the resistors melts the thermal fuse and it comes out like yours - only high works. It is a fail-safe design for the resistors and for the motor… Unless the motor is on high, of course.
Now you see why Honda wants the motor replaced at the same time. Something made the resistor pack overheat and it could be a dragging or seizing blower motor. Or it could be all the vents were closed enough to cut the airflow down.
- Honda owners: is there a difference in top speed between 4 speed and 5 speed element? My car is an 03 auto awd ex. I'm just curious, what top speed before drag effect comes into Affect? Can it achieve over 100 mph? I've heard that it can do 1-10 but I'm not sure whether that's for the 5 speed or the automatic bc the extra gear makes a difference in my opinion.
- Will cbr 250 2011 fairings fit cbr 125 2011? I can't find the Honda CBR 125 2011 fairings anywhere and it doesn't look nice anymore with alot of holes and cracks but I have a shop near me that is selling for the CBR 250 2011 fairings and both bikes look exactly the same but I don't want to waste alot of money if it doesn't fot
- 2002 Honda Civic low beams won't turn on, but high beams will? I heard there was a recall for this but I'm not positive because I can't find anything to confirm that. How do I fix this myself if there was no recall? I know nothing about anything under the hood so if you could be specific in your answer I would appreciate it.
- Low beam works when pulled out of headlight socket but when put in it goes out? 2002 Honda accord strange occurrence and can't figure it out. The one low beam was out so I went to replace the bulb I twisted the plug out of the headlight itself and the low beam came on stayed on for a while then went out put it back into the headlight, pulled it out again and the same thing I tried this a few times and every time I pull the plug and bulb out the bulb lights up?
