Honda MT50 Swingarm/Suspension?

I'm currently restoring my 1996 honda mt50, Upon buying parts I thought about changing the rear swingarm and suspension setup to get some extra ride height. I have read lots about conversions that can be done involving honda cr80 swingarm/monoshock systems, And I also remember reading about a yamaha tzr 125 being used for the same parts. Since all of this crazy talk was all posted on Norwegian forums it is all very shady once translated into english and I'm very confused with the concept of it all. I would definitely change the swingarm to a longer and more robust one, Yet at the moment I'm confused weather a twin-shock to monoshock swap is feesable or not, And if so how? Any knowledge on the subject would be great, Thanks in advance.

The shock swap is feasible but would require frame 'adjustments' , a plate/bracket to attach the top of the mono. The other thing it will do is alter the rake/trail handling of the bike, but that's up to you to figure out if it's usable for your riding. It would make it a mini-bobber, which is cool but at what cost?

Hi the best method is to stick with what is. These ideas come from those who race motorcycles usually or just have to try it.
so a rebuild is usually because you like a particular machine and want to get it back to it's original look.
by all means replace worn swing arm bushes bronze as used a lot back in the beginning.
