Is rebadging my car illegal in Oregon or the US in general?

I have an 02 Honda Passport AKA Isuzu Rodeo

My car was sold under many different names such as Honda Passport, Isuzu Rodeo, Opel Frontera B, those are just some examples but it was sold under more names than just that. I want to know if I can take the grill off and Opel Frontera which are not sold in the US nor were they ever sold in the US and put it on my car legally. The Opel Frontera Grill 02-04 facelift does not say Opel it has the logo of an o with a lightning bolt in it. Could I legally put this grill on my car? The side badging and rear badging would stay the same. No modifications would be required just a grill replacement because they are the same exact car.

I don't see how it would be illegal. If you made it look like an entirely different vehicle there would probably be questions if you were pulled over, but not for parts with slight cosmetic differences.

Call your local police department.

It is absolutely not illegal.

The only people you need to clear this with is your insurance.
Some companies count it as modified.

If you can FIT a Ferrari grill in front or that of a Hummer or an old picket fence or use expanded metal and make your own grill, you are doing nothing more than Customiziing your PoS. Your registration papers still say what the car actually is… With its VIN number.
Hell, you can even just get partial lettering and put it together to make a name all your own. It is not officially doing anything. "TINKERTOY5000XJS LTD. You can't confuse the cops as they see "red 2 door sedan" or"green pickup License plate TODUM123" as they radio ahead. They don't read the badge on the Car… Some they Know. Mustang, Camaro. VW, Blue pick up… Van, Beer truck, coffee wagon with donuts…
My "V"ette"W" did not confuse them… Nor did my "HemiCuda"Dub. They could tell it was a Bug. And the registration also said so. You could put a Ford badge on a Chev truck or viceversa, it don't matter. Blue or brown truck, single person driving erratically on road, probably drunk so good for Taser practice for a laugh. " I'm guessing that is what the cops say or think… Can't prove it, too drunk.
. You are essentially taking parts from the same car just a different assembly line as they can't read English, so you are doing NOTHING. Hell get creative and go to town and make your own welding parts together and lots of hammer work so it is one of a kind. How do you think they made the BATMOBILE? No stock parts so we want fins… We take it off of this car and weld it on and fiberglass it to shape.

Relax. Of course you can do that. The Powers-that-be only care about the VIN, Your title still says rodeo. Don't hesitiate to wear a bra over that. Then it will be your little secret.
