Is Toyota more reliable then Honda?

I want to buy a much newer model (2014-2016) and i want to know from experience which one is gonna last longer?

The overall initial quality and reliability of Toyota, as a whole, is only a half notch higher relative to Honda brand vehicles. However, if you are considering purchase of a 2 to 4 year old used vehicle the reliability and dependability would be better judged by how well and complete the Toyota or Honda was serviced and maintained the last few years. That's key.

Which Toyota, and which Honda? Surely you can't believe that all models from a given manufacturer have exactly the same reliability.

Then again, I just fielded a question from someone who wanted to know if some spell on YouTube would improve singing ability, so "Surely you can't believe" is withdrawn.

If you will be keeping the car until the wheels fall off, you get the Toyota.

The one that will last longer is the one you take better care of. In my experience, the Honda dealer service in my town sux the big one and at Toyota they treat me like a king. That's why I have 2 Corollas and a Camry and had two other Toyotas in the past.

Which model are you even talking about, how are we supposed to know that? Most reliable model is Toyota Prius.

They are both very good. I'm not sure one is significantly better than the other.

Some say Honda is better, others say Toyota.

I think how you treat the car matters more than the name plate. I bought a mazda because I found a deal on one and saving $700-800 when buying it was worth far more than the name plate.
