Do you recommend a Honda Cbr1000 for a new rider?
I just took the MSF class and got my motorcycle endorsement. I plan to buy a kawasaki ninja 250 or a 300 and ride it for 3 to 6 months to gain some experience than jump to the CBR1000. Would that be a good idea or could I just skip the 250 and go straight for the 1000?
I would not even recommend one to most experienced riders, that bike is a race bike, its not for a beginner and most riders that have several years under their belt probably can't handle the power of a literbike
before you ever get a literbike you need to ride a smaller bike then after a couple of years maybe get a 500 05 600cc sportbike ( which is still more power than most riders can handle and more than you can ever use on public roads, the only way you can even use a 600 to its fullest is on a track )
if you rode a 100cc bike before you had 4 or 5 years riding you'd probably be dead in a day or less, maybe even crash the first time you hit the throttle and found out it has a higher HP to weight ration than a supercar, nearly as much as an indie car
"The bike only goes as fast as you twist the throttle."

Yep, and a little sneeze will have you doing 70 in a blink of an eye.
Why do noobs ask experienced people and then backtalk?
I DO NOT recommend a 1000cc Zoom-Splat for anyone with only 6 months experience (which you do not even have yet).
Really bad idea.
Why not just go for a ZX14 or a Busa?
NO!
Do yourself a huge favour and read the article linked below
No,. Lemme guess, you think that cause those idiots CycleCruza and NightRider on YouTube say it's a good idea that it really is? This ain't Road Rash II
No. Go to a sv650 after the 250 and test more upright big bikes before you move up. I'd suggest the speed triple after the AV. Both huge fun great performance flattering of your skills.
Not a good choice- a hit of testosterone and adrenaline at the wrong time and you can go from 0 to WTF is a hurry - and it won't go from WTF to 0 any faster than a bike with half the HP. Learn to ride properly first or have you organ donor card on you when you ride. Can it be done - sure you will hear other squids say "I started on a litre bike" what you won't hear are all those brain-damage, crippled ex-riders and dead riders chiming in and saying don't do it…
Sure. If you want to add to the road fatality statistics. Seriously.

- Which bike would be a good first sport bike. Looking at CBR1000/600's and also the yamaha R1/R6? I don't know much about the differences, I know some people are all for Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda, of Kawasaki. Seems that whatever bike someone has, they say its the best. I wish I could just ride all of them and see for myself. Tampa, FL Sam
