How to find a lighting coil on dirt bike?
I just got a dirt bike the other day its a honda xl250 from 1983. The headlight doesn't work on it and i don't like how the headlight looks so i'm getting a new one but i need to findout if it has a lighting coil how do i find it also if i get a new headlight will it mess up where the speedometer is?
The XL model is street legal.
Therefore it was produced with a headlight.
The lighting coil is incorporated in with the stator (behind the flywheel).

- Running a VIN check on a dirt bike in Australia? So I was considering running a VIN check on my dirt bike, which is a 00' Honda Cr250 (un-registerable). I'm in Australia and I'm not sure where to go to get this check done as this bike would not have any registration history. Ideas? Help? Much appreciated as i'm just trying to find out my bikes past & possibly the first owner.
