How to get a key made for my motercycle?
I've got a 2004 honda cbr f4i with title and registration in my name. I lost my only key. I called a honda dealership and they said they couldn't help me and to call a locksmith. I called a locksmith and they said they couldn't help me and to call a honda dealership! What the hell? I know I'm not the only person this has happened to, any suggestions?
Call a locksmith, if he can't help you than a whole new ignition ordered through Honda.
Sounds like you got hold of someone at the Honda dealership who doesn't want to go through the trouble of getting you a new key. Try again, or try another Honda dealership.
You may end up getting a new cylinder and keys for the ignition and any other locks on the bike. You could source a used one for your bike and have the dealership change them out.
Honda can set you up with a key if they want, if the shop you are dealing with is uncooperative, try another dealer.
I have gotten a replacement key from the Honda dealer in the past with a key number and my registration.
Unless things have changed I don't see any reason they couldn't set you up.
Time for a new ignition I think. OUCH thats gonna hurt your wallet if you don't install it yourself.
You have 2 choices here if you call a locksmith SOMETIMES they are able to pour this liquid that hardens up and creates a mold or I'm not sure if you can now a days but on my 97 all I had to do is get the new ignition part just were you stick the key in (sorry I can't remember the name) take that make sure it's got a positive and negative wire cut the old one than just hook it up with new one and the new key not sure if that works nowadays so check it out first
If the dealership can't hep you in this situation, there's only way i.e. Locksmith. And you mentioned that the locksmith that you called replied you with same answer.
It is very much possible that the locksmith does not have the enough expertise which is needed in this case. So it would be better if you take help of another expertise locksmith service.
- Is there anyway to add a motercycle compartment to a volkswagen van? I'm planning a cross country trip in the future with a '73 Volkswagen van. It runs well but I wouldn't want to take it on rough roads so I was thinking about taking my bike with me on the road. It's a 2003 Honda rebel, 250cc. I was wondering if there was anything I could add to my van so I could take my bike with me. Anything helps, thanks.
- If my 92 honda key isn't working, can I replace just the part where the key goes in, or do I have to do more?
