I keep dropping my motorcycle

I'm a female, 110 pounds and just bought a brand new Honda cbr500r. When I stop I usually drop it. When it's in neutral I usually drop it. This is my first time being on a motorcycle or even on a standard ever. What I do?

Clearly the bike is too big and heavy for you to handle - you need something lighter and probably smaller

When you come to a stop, you're supposed to put your feet down. If you're doing this and the bike isn't too tall for you, you're not dropping the bike.

Are you using the front brake only to make the final stop? If so that is the problem. If the front brake is engaged with the bars turned at all it will literally pull you over.

I suggest you take a MSF class.

110 pounds, you are probably under 5'2". The Honda cbr500r is over 420 pounds with a 30.7" tall saddle.
You are also a blonde, a brunette would have realized she was too small for the bike.

Since you want an oversize motorcycle, I would suggest a Suzuki S40 -- a 380 pound cruiser with a 27.6" saddle.

  • You say do I need to keep the Bell helmet the renter wore when he slipped, and crashed my motorcycle? My motorcycle is the 2008? Honda CBR600RR super sport motorcycle. The Cofounder of Riders- Share.Com compensated me the full amount of the motorcycle repairer's written damage estimate. I was also fully compensated for the helmet, which the renter wore when he crashed my motorcycle and my helmet.
  • Is it good to keep a new bike at rest for more than 2months? I'm going to buy a honda cbf stunner 125cc bike tomorrow. Well, I'm just 17years. I would be turning 18 only by this August. Is it okay to ride the new bike locally until I gain license?
  • I've just turned 18 today and i'm gonna be getting a motorcycle what motorcycle would suit me? I'm only 90-95 pounds and I'm short what would be a good light weight cruiser around 250-300 pounds like my Honda Twinstar 185? I can't balance anything too big as i'm small, I need something that's lightweight, preferably Harley, but any work for me a bikes a bike, Thank you in advance! Note: My Honda Twinstar does not run my father had that bike since I was 7 or 8 and gave it to me when I was 9 but it sat out so long it doesn't work.
  • How to keep my motorcycle clutch from burning out? I bought a Honda CBR500R for my first bike. I was riding over the bridge and I hit the clutch to help me get over it. I ended up getting more revs than acceleration after that. I called Cycle Center the next day and they said I had burnt out my clutch because I used it too much. Now it's going to take a week before they order the parts. I feel like riding the clutch is a habit. But I HAVE to use it to get out of parking. Any help?
