Motorcycle A1 Test, how hard?
I'm coming up to my 17th, I have some money left over and was debating to do a A1 test, and having a pillion passenger that would be used nearly everyday and the other bonuses. I know my insurance goes up as well but I'm mainly wondering about the cost and difficulty, it all changes year by year. Any help would be great!
I bought a Honda CBR 125RS6
The test is not hard, read up theory and highway code questions and drive safely not forgetting lifesavers and you should pass. The storys that people tell that an examiner is only allowed to pass a certain number a month are false
"Hard" and "easy" are purely subjective. Some people may find the all tests a piece of cake, others may struggle and fail several times before passing. How "hard" or "easy" it will be for you, nobody here can tell you.
The motorcycle theory test costs £31.00
The Module 1 practical test costs £15.50
The Module 2 practical test costs £75.00
The A1 is relatively cheap, because you can use your own 125cc motorcycle… Instead of having to go through a course and hiring one, and having private lessons etc (However, at least a few lessons are recommended). Theory test is around £30, Module one is around £15, and module 2 for me was around £90-100 (3 years ago), but as Nightworks stated… It may have been reduced.
I can't say how hard it is, because it depends on each rider. What they're capable of, how much experience they have, amount of practice etc.
I'd say in my opinion, module 1 is perhaps the hardest. Simply because you don't do those kind of manoeuvres everyday, and it's something different. However, you can watch videos on YouTube that will help you out. I also practiced for mine via taking bottles to a car park, and doing slalom and figure of 8's etc. Even though I had never really done those manoeuvres, I had been riding 2 and a half years so it didn't give me much problems. However, for a new rider with little experience, it may take some time doing slow manoeuvres and working with the clutch and rear brake at the same time.
- Take a nice car to road test? I have my road test in 3 days and I have been practicing on 3 cars. My moms Honda Pilot, my car(hyundai Genesis), and my dads 2013 Maserati. I'm comfortable with all 3 of them. Should I take my dads maserati on the road test to get the instructor more lenient because it is a nice car or should I take a normal car?
- Test light on positive lead on starter relay comes on when the motorcycle is off, when bike key is turn on, test light is off? Does this mean starter relay is bad? I'm trying to diagnose my electrical problem on a honda cbr f4. The lights turned on but when I tried to start bike all power shut off and now nothing powers on.
- Motorcycle road skills test in Louisiana? So I have study material for the written test, but I need to know what I'm up against on a road skills test in Louisiana. I need this, because this is my first road bike, plus not to mention its a 87 Honda Shadow 700, which is a big step from a trail dirt bike. It'd be nice to know all regs, disqualifications, and the maneuvers that I have to do in order to pass. Drawings are welcomed as well to explain the maneuvers.
- Is it hard to ride a motorcycle? The motorcycle that I plan to ride is Honda Wave 125, will it be hard to ride a motorcycle like that?
