Registration on dirtbike?

I recently bought a 2000 Honda XR100 and in the town i live in utah the only thing required to drive on the streets is a sticker (the sticker of the year) a helmet, and you have to go 15 mph. I'm not sure what i must do in order to get one of those stickers. Also i need to know the costs. Again the year of the model is a 2000

Best bet is to contact the DMV in your area to ask. I'm sure someone could spit out a website or an answer for you to look at, but if you make a decision based on what we tell you, the only person who can get burned by it is you. So it is worth your while to look into yourself.

Talk to the DMV and ask them what you have to do. Since it is a dirt bike instead of a dual sport, I wouldn't be surprised if they actually referred you to the DNR to register it as a recreational vehicle similar to a quad or snowmobile that rides trails, but who knows. You have to ask.

Likely will go to DNR for inspection of exhaust and safety equipment- muffler spark arrestor, kill switch or safety throttle and brakes- to get the sticker that lets you ride on state, federal lands-- that is drill locally in Wisconsin and Iowa. As for road use? I know Sister in Iowa gets on county road with ATV along with some dirt bikes- they get lumped into 'Agricultural' equipment category, Utah as you state for 15mph may be doing something similar, a couple federal laws have a 20 mph break for construction, forestry, agricultural implements and it is state option to let them on other than interstate system without license plates.

  • Which dirtbike is better? Ok well i was just wandering which bike would be the best. The bikes i have been looking at are the Honda crf100f and crf150f and the Yamaha TTR125. I'm 13 years old 5'9" and 115 lbs. Could somebody tell me which would be their personal suggestion?
  • What's the best 250f dirtbike? I currently have a 2013 honda crf150r that i have recently out grown. I've been looking for a 250f and ijust want to know whick is best. I've been leaning towards the kx but i'm still considering the crf because i like honda. I will be using the bike for trails and track riding but i don't have a problem with a bike being bad for rails because of the power delivery etc. I really want a strong powerful and reliable engine but i also want good handling.
  • What is a good dirtbike for me? I'm 15 and 5'10" and 150 pounds. I'm very experienced on dirt bikes because i have been riding them pretty much non-stop since i was 5. So, i was looking for a bike that can handle some good sized jumps but can also deal with heavy trail riding. I really would like to get a honda. Any suggestions?
