What am I doing wrong while shifting?
When riding my motorcycle (Honda CBR 1000 RR) while shifting from 3rd to 4th I hear some grinding sound, and if I keep the throttle held down after the grinding stops the bike lurches forward and then rides like usual. Am I shifting up to early, too late, or what?
Added (1). This only happens sometimes.
Sounds like it may be clutch related, possibly a sorta loose clutch basket.
Suggest an oil/filter change, inspect the old oil/filter for a bit of aluminum flakes and go from there. (grinding is only good with your Girlfriend).
- Resistance when shifting from park to reverse? Automatic trans honda? There's resistance when shifting from park to reverse all the drive gears work fine shift good what could be the problem probably not the trans since when put In reverse it works fine help? It's hard basically to shift from park to reverse you have to fight it
- Does shifting in an automatic damage the car? My car (Honda pilot 2011) has a 1/2/3 setting on the car and if I use that while driving will I damage anything? I typically use it when I'm driving for fun and shift it at red line and then shift it back into drive at the end of 3rd gear. My old car was a stick and I miss it but will it hurt the car besides the normal wear and tear?
- Accidentally Took out the wrong engine cap in my Motorcycle while trying to drain the Engine Oil? My Motorcycle is a Honda XRM. I was trying to change engine oil but opened a different screw/cap just beside the engine oil drain.A 5 inch long spring and a rod with holes came out, i put it back the way i think it should be, then opened the Drain cap, drained the engine oil and filled it with new oil. But when i start the motorcycle it sounded like there's something loose moving inside the engine. What is the rod and spring that came out? Is it critical?
- Ideas for a cheap manual shifting car? I'm want to get a car with a manual transmission that is more fuel efficient than my truck. Nothing new something from the 90s or 2000s. I like the look of the honda prelude but i want some other options too. 2 doors would be nice, 4 cylinder engine, must have a manual transmission. So who has any ideas about what i'm looking for?
