Can I drive on the Corolla beaches with my car?

I have a Honda Pilot with intelligent traction control sand mode and AWD. Can I drive on the beach where the horses are?

Corolla beaches are for Toyotas.

Is unincorporated, so county sheriffs handle traffic laws. Contact them.
Wildlife sanctuary is only for horses, north of the town, don't think cars allowed.

It is highly discouraged to drive anything that isn't 4x4 with good clearance, but I can't find anywhere that it is prohibited. The sand in the Outer Banks is pretty soft and loose compared to some other beaches.

Maybe call the office that issues parking and beach permits (not required for Corolla, but they'll be familiar with the area) and ask their opinion? See link below.

Ok

Yes

You can STILL get stuck with AWD, trust me on that, and when the tide comes in with your car stuck, you're Really skee-rood.
