What would be a good mileage for a used car?
I'll be 16 soon and want to get my car as soon as possible… I'm looking at hondas from 2012-ish, what would be a good mileage? Is 50k a lot for the age? Would I want something with less mileage?
Anything under 50k with service history would be fine
Average mileage id 12000 to 15000 miles a year so in the ball park of 48000 to 60000 miles.
That is about right if someone took the freeway a lot and worked far.
At 16 you don't need a car that new, try 10 years old, you can go up to 150,000 on a used Japanese car, or 100,000 on a used American car.
50K for a honda is practically a new car. Many Hondas get in the high 20's for mileage.
- Why do used Hondas and Toyotas have double the mileage of GM, Ford & Chrysler? Shopping for used car and noticed Hondas and Toyotas typically have 200k or more miles while Big 3 only have 100k for the same price.
- Is buying a used Toyota, Honda or Mazda car over 100,500 mileage worth it? Or is it too risky? I don't want to buy a car that will die as soon as I get it. I want it too last a while.
- Why does my car get unusually good gas mileage than normal? It's a 98 Honda Civic. I do 2 hours of Combined city and highway driving for 5-6 days a week. I kinda have a heavy foot, the rims are 1" bigger than stock and the car is due for it's next tune up this coming Monday. The car is rated at 28mpg combined when it was shiny back in 1998, and when I calculated mine i got 32 mpg combined, my calculation isn't wrong either as i have an mpg calculator
- What is a good mileage to look for in a Honda Civic, Scion xB, and Toyota Prius to be used for a few years without too many problems? I'm looking at the above mentioned cars to be used for 1-3 years, but I do not know the mileage to look for. I d like to know the milage lifetime for each car mentioned, and approximately at how many miles the car will survive without having consistent problems. If you could give me the answer for each kind of car, or even one of them it would be greatly appreciated.
