Why are Honda's torque so poor?
Why are Honda's torque so poor?
They focus on high rpm to produce more power. You can't have good torque with this design from a small gas/petrol engine. If you want torque and power buy a European diesel. VW diesels have plenty of power and torque.
They're not designed to be a race car. DUH.
More torque burns more gas.
Honda is a motorcycle manufacturer and they do favour engine designs that like to rev, often at the expense of low down grunt, however they aren't exactly gutless. Don't drive them like diesels (unless yours is a diesel). Let them stretch their legs.
- What's the best engine (to add horse power and torque) that i can swap into my 1999 Honda Prelude? Currently i have an H22A but i heard that the k series or even the f series are better? Is this true or should i just stick with my H22A?
- Poor gas mileage on my 97 honda prelude? For some reason i've been getting pretty bad gas mileage on my 5th gen 1997 prelude. I bought the car about 3 months ago and i've noticed i waste way too much gas i really don't know what it could be i've been told to check the o2 sensor but i don't know how to do that or what to even check for, any help will really be appreciated
- Poor pick up on my Honda CD125K? I'm in the process of restoring an old honda CD125K. Bike doesn't have CDI, and runs on points. I have changed the oil, fixed a new carburetor with a new air cleaner, new spark plugs, etc. But it has very poor pick up on the 1st gear… Engine revs very well but the pick up is really bad. How do i improve this?
- Is the reason why a motorbike engine won't work in a car because they can't produce high torque at low RPM? I have a 1.3 litre Mitsubishi Colt. Maximum power output 94 BHP at 6000 rpm Maximum torque 92 FT/LB at 4000 rpm Honda 2017 CBR1000RR 1 litre Maximum Power output 189 HP at 13,000 RPM 85.6 FT/LB at 11,000rpm
