Why are Hondas so unreliable/poorly built?

When will Honda be up to par with Cadillac or Mitsubishi standards?

My last one lasted 19 years.

I had a Cadillac that I just got rid of because it was a money pit, after dumping 6 grand in the last year I got tired of it, You're better off with a Honda, ( Even though I'm not crazy about rice burners)

When you buy one that's less than 10 years old. Start saving your paper route money, troll.

I sure wouldn't aspire to reaching recent Cadillac standards.

Honda cars are among the most reliable, and Honda owners among the most satisfied. If a person buys one new and follows recommended maintenance schedules, it should last at least 200,000 miles before a major problem. But - I don't have recent "recommended maintenance" information: back in the 70's when Civics and Accords were becoming popular, Honda recommended replacing all 4 suspension struts every 20,000 miles. Even a Yugo would last forever if you regularly replace all the parts. (Extreme example: Mercedes were highly esteemed when first nationally distributed in the US starting around 1956… Back then, "recommended maintenance'" included - among other things - removing the crankshaft and measuring the bearings for wear once a year. Mercedes maintenance hasn't gotten any cheaper since then.)

As for buying a used Honda, Toyota, Nissan or other "disposable" make: people usually like them and keep them until they become troublesome and expensive to maintain - just like a BMW or Benz. Of the Asian makes, Mitsubishi has always been less desirable than Toyota or Nissan.

Hi so a honda is well built when compared to your cadillac. The reason is time and care put into building them. Now we comet the facts of them modern motor car designed to last 8 years or 100k miles beyond which it is just luck. So i would guess at least 12 years old. And well over 150k miles.
the Honda when compared to american built piece of junk when well maintain last 2.5 times longer.

Are you trying to make yourself look stupid? Based on owner complaints, Cadillac is at the bottom of the pile. If Mitsubishi needs to offer a 10 year warranty to attract buyers, then what is it compensating for?
