Would you rather drive a Honda or a Toyota?

Which car would you rather drive and why? And please choose one of these two.

Asking which make you'd rather have is too simplistic., there are many different models of either make.

I'd rather have an S2000 than a Yaris/Vitz

But

I'd rather have a Supra than a Fit/Jazz

Toyota. More reliable

Depends on the model and year. It's also a matter of taste. Toyota is a people's car. Which is why it is more comfortable and they are historically designed with people who don't take care of their cars in mind. Most of Toyota's enegines are non interference so if the timing belt broke, you can just change the belt; Whereas Hondas usually meant time for a new engine if the timing belt broke.I've seen poorly maintained Toyotas surpass 250,000 miles with very little maintenance. Can't say the same for Honda.

Honda is a driver's car- they are better handling cars and are much more fun to drive. Hondas have always had the issue with being great cars as long as you keep them properly maintained. Many will say that that statement applies to all cars but that's not true. Not all cars last a long time even with proper maintenance and Honda was doing it with all aluminum engines when everyone else were still using cast iron engine blocks. In fact, Honda engines were actually lasting longer than most of the others. They are a technological marvel. Their obssession with racing was what made them such amazingly reliable and excellent performing cars. That racing technology was passed on to their passenger cars and motorcycles. The downsideis that with ever changing technology, it limits dealer support on older models, unlike Toyota that uses the if it aint broke, don't fix it motto. Toyota still has parts support on many of their 30 plus year old vehicles because of this.

With all of that said, neither company is as good as they used to be but if I were to pick, it be Honda. I'm a diehard Toyota guy and always will be, but Honda is really coming into their own lately. They may actually be a little more reliable than Toyota now. I don't think about the recalls Toyota had because Honda has had their share (they call them TSBs). Sitting in the two, the Honda just feels better built to me. Toyotas have always been well-built cars and I haven't tried the latest models, but I know that the Camry and Corollas from just 3-5 years ago didn't have that quality feel they had years ago. With that said, Honda would be my choice.

By the way, if you're looking at Hybrids, the Prius is still a better buy than either of the Honda Civic or Insight hybrids. And issues with the Civic Hybrid? They still have issues.

Toyota…

This is pretty simple. Toyotas make me think of drying paint. Hondas offer more style burt are still pretty boring. I would go for a Subaru with a Boxer Diesel instead!

Honda and Toyota are both reliable, hondas tend to be more sporty in the way they drive. Toyotas are a bit softer. I default to honda first.

Talking, smallcar, suv, what? Those w make maybe q5 to 2p vehicles between them. Both are good cars.

Toyota. Fantastic, cheap yet aesthetically-pleasing cars that last ages. My first car was a Corolla that was already 12 years old, and I drove it for another 6 before giving it to my cousin about 2 years ago, who still has it.

Honda is comparable, but I prefer Toyota as I've personally witnessed their longevity in more cases than Honda. That said, I haven't much experience with Toyotas or Hondas made in the past few years, except for a Honda Pilot which would honestly have been a horrible car even if it had been a Toyota…

I go with Honda. I look for fuel efficiency but I'm not going to pay an extra $10,000. The Prius also had a number of recalls for quite serious problems. The civic hybrid has been trouble free for 9.5 years. My next car is likely to be the Jazz even though I'm disappointed that the efficiency is not as good as the civic hybrid. But leather seat, climate control, reversing camera, for about 25K; that 9k cheaper that the civic is a good argument.

My Toyota has been a pile of S**t and my colleagues Honda has been nothing but grief.
Personally I would not buy either again.

HI thjis is like spliting hairs to be honest both have there own followers. Yes i drive a toyota but only because it is the most reliable 4x4 by far.
