2006 honda accord a/c blowing hot on drivers side?

2006 honda accord a/c blowing hot on drivers side?

Your system has dual climate zone control so I have seen a lot of Accord acted this way (Blowing hot on driver side) due to low on freon. You'll have someone know how to check for leak and then repair the leak and with the system vacuum and recharge to proper amount will take care of the problem.

If not then the HVAC system need to check for code and see what has failed. A commom thing will be the blend door actuator on the driver side. If you cycle the driver side temp knob from cold to hot and back to cold (Moved it all the way to high & back to 58) and if it blow cold then most likely that indicates the problem.

There's a blend door actuator on the driver side of the heater box. It is on the the heater box under the drivers side of the center console. If you look under the dash while moving the temp knob you shoud see the actuator move. It may not be traveling to a completely closed position, which is not letting the blend door close and cause the symptom (Blowing hot)

You can check the actuator by manually move the linkage, you can either remove the actuator and move the linkage to the fully closed position, or "help" the linkage while the motor is still connected by moving it the same direction it is moving while traveling to the cold position.

I can't imagine the HVAC control panel for your Accord or what it look like but be best to have someone with the proper scanner to read for code.

The scanner is also used to activate other components and for data reading as well. If you don't have the scanner then (I think) look at the light on the recirculation button will blink the code if there's a trouble code, after the procedure is performed. For models with the temperature display, the code will show there.

For models without the temperature display, the light will blink a number of times, so you have to count the number of blinks (e.g., 1 blink = code 1, 2 blinks = code 2, etc.). For models with a temp. Display, it shows an actual number instead of the blinking.

How to retrieve the code: There are other links available on the Net as well. Try these 2 link:

Anyway, be best if you go to this link and down load for a free FSM (Factory Service/ Repair Manual for your 2006 Accord. Do it now before the site is shot down by copy right, otherwise, it would cost hundred of cocos to buy.
