How to remove (1996 Honda accord lx 4 door) side door molding?
There seems to be rust around and under my side door molding on my driver side door. I was just wondering how to remove the molding so i can take care of the rust and repaint it before it gets bad. I'm not sure if its just adhesive holding it or some screws. But i don't want to just pry it open and mess it up. Does anyone know how to get the molding off (keeping in mind i'm going to put it back on) so i want it off in one piece unless i absolutely can't then ill just buy new ones or just not have moldings period.
Hi Most mouldings are held inlace by plastic parts which become brittle over time so a 19 year old car mouldings clips will be very brittle and you will need to source new clips before taking off the old mouldings a honda dealer may still use these even on new cars.
Very good idea to get on top of the rust, i think its just held on with silicone, ide try carefully to remove it from the body and once i did the work ide use rood and gutter silicone to keep it in place

- Why is my 2015 Honda Civic moving side to side when I drive? When I drive 50+, I feel my car shifting side to side just a little bit. Is it because the lug nuts are not tightly screwed on?
- Can I replace the molding around my rear windshield without removing the glass? My car is a 1999 Honda Civic 4dr and I think the molding around the rear windshield is too old and damaged that it leaks water, making it more foggy than usual. I want to know if the rubber molding can be replaced at home without special tools or removal of the glass.
